The General Concentration Track is the only track with a clinical component, setting it apart from the other tracks that don’t offer diagnosis and treatment courses. In addition to taking fundamental courses that elevate your mindfulness while working with students struggling with mental health issues, you will converse with outside mental health counselors to learn about diagnostic criteria and have informed discussions with counselors, parents and family members.
This track is crucial, offering important crisis courses that prepare you to deal with critical challenges students face today. The program integrates research and assessment, career counseling, telemental health and family counseling, which can be required coursework in other states. To ensure you won’t need to take additional courses later, please research your state’s licensure requirements and choose courses that align with those criteria.
