  • Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
    • Lead the landscape change of Arkansas State University to include multiple construction projects adding over 1,000,000,000 square feet to the campus at $200,000,000 in construction cost
    • Lead the development of three enrollment management plans; each had an increase in enrollment, with the last one establishing a record enrollment
    • Mentored for upward mobility over 14 vice chancellors and presidents
  • Lead the design, development and construction of the A-State residential campus in Queretaro, Mexico
  • Authored book: “Legacy of Change: An Administrator’s Guide to Navigating Higher Education”

  • Why did you start teaching?

    After 40 years of student affairs work, I could truly utilize my experience in higher education to help students get excited about working in a university setting. I also was able to interpret textbook philosophy to show how it really works in higher education.

    Find your passion and build your brand!

  • What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which they teach?

    Passion, defined personal brand, determination, persistence, honor, high level of integrity, and the ability to make friends and influence others.

  • What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?

    Be adaptable to change, stay current on many facets of higher education, know your brand, professionally surround yourself with positive influencers. Develop your vision and strive for it every day.

    I like to spend time with my family, ride Harley Davidson, and go salt- and fresh-water fishing.
