Why did you start teaching?
My father was an educator. He was my role model, and an excellent instructor. He showed interest and value in every one of his students for over 36 years. This is what I'm striving to do throughout my career...to be able to influence the overall education and development in every student under my instruction or advisement.
What's the best advice that you have ever received?
When the time for decision has arrived, the time for preparation has ended.
What's the best advice that you could give your students?
Keep the perspective in mind when completing each assignment for every class. They all serve a purpose in the long run. No substitute for hard work.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
The successful habit books by Stephen Covey.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which you teach?
Communication skills (written and oral).
